If you take a look around you will see that many people do not know and have never been told how to apply foundation correctly, yet it is the most important part of the make up application creating a base for everything else. Here, I will tell you how to apply foundation so that it looks so natural, no-one will ever know you’re wearing it!
Items you will need:
-
Foundation
-
Foundation brush
-
Concealer
-
Blusher brush
When applying foundation it is important to remember that it is not used to change the colour of your face or to mask features such as freckles and birthmarks. It is used to even out skin tone.
To apply foundation I recommend using either a foundation brush, which can be picked up relatively cheaply, or your fingertips.
Place the foundation on the back of your hand (this allows the foundation to warm so that it is easier to apply and blends more efficiently.
Start from the centre of your face and work your way outwards. Never dot foundation over your face, this will make it more likely that the foundation will be visible in your hairline and will give a higher risk of it looking like a make up counter exploded in your face! Once you have applied a suitable amount to cover any redness take a large blush brush and gently sweep over your face in circular motions
Finally take a concealer that is a shade or two lighter than your skin tone and place on any dark circles under your eyes. Using your ring finger press lightly into your under eye until it the circles and concealer are no longer visible. Using your ring finger is the most effective way of doing this as it applies the least amount of pressure to this delicate area. Using this method, apply to blemishes on your face and neck. Check all areas of your face to ensure that everything is blended perfectly. To finish add blush and mascara for a fresh and natural look!
